Good luck to all the programmers for the Computer draughts tournament of tomorrow. the best will win. If Damy, Kingsrow and Damage was present it will be interesting because one program in this tournament is a monster and i don't think that the other can stop it.

Michel, congratulations with your tournament victory.

Could you post some details regarding (if any) improvements of the Dragon 2013 version, compared with last year?

Thanks. In 2012 dragon was pretty strong already, but the 2013 version has many improvements over it:
- This year the transition to bitboards as finally completed. Together with other performance optimizations, dragon is 1.4 times as fast, at about 9 Million evaluations/second (or 23 millions nodes/sec)
- Improvements in the search algorithms, most notably late move reductions
- Much finetuning of the search-related parameters.
- Removal of bugs

The tournament turned up 1 remaining bug; dragon didn't detect a draw by repetition, causing a draw in a otherwise won position.

It will be difficult to further improve the code from now on as all the low hanging fruit has been picked now.

4.3.0 has some user interface bugs fixed compared to the beta and is 1% faster.

Congratulations Michel, this Dragon version is really strong, sincerly! I was on Harm Jetten's site and saw only the games of Dam 2.2 against the others in PDN, unfortunally, i dont see the game yet on toernooibase.knd.nl. please can i have the site or link where we can see all the games or can we have the games of Dragon 4.3.0? thanks again
