hoe samenvoegen tdam mega2012s met "oude" mega-database

Hallo,

Wie heeft een slimme truc om mijn oude mega database met heel veel analyses samen te voegen met de nieuwe mega database met de gewijzigde spelersnamen.
Als ik nu samenvoeg en de dubbelen ga verwijderen, vind hij nauwelijks dubbele partijen ivm de gewijzigde spelersnamen.

Hopelijk heef iemand een handige truc! Dan hoor ik deze graag. Heb Klaas ook al gemaild, echter geen reactie.

I will give it a try

I want to merge my old mega-database (with a lot of annotated games) with the new mega-database (the one with the new player names).
On this moment when i merge the two databases and remove the double games, there are almost no games removed because of the new playernames.

I'am looking for a smart trick. I have already mailed klaas himself, but no reaction.

I have some idea's how to do it, but i have to program some things, and i don't know if i can do that

Maybe if somebody can read the tdam50players.lst file with the "old" player names for me in a normal text file.
then read the tdam50players.lst with the "new" player names in a normal text file
then maybe i can make a mapping? (i'am not sure if this is the correct name) file
make an export of the old database to pdn format
convert the "old" names with the mapping file to the "new" names
import the converted pdn file
merge the two databases

How old is your "old" mega database?
If it is up to date until the end of 2011, just do a search on the games only from 2012 in the new database, and copy the search results into the old one.

Thank you wishmaster for youre idea, but my mega-database is pretty old, so this solution does not work for me.
