In de hardloopwereld geldt: "If you want to run like the Kenyans, train like the Kenyans".
Het is misschien wat simpel, maar ik zou zeggen: if you want to win like the Russians train like the Russians.

Re: 8x8 training
I a little translated your words.
And I understand the main idea.
Maybe you are right. 64 draughts in childhood can help to develope some calculation skills.
So after in 100 you will be more strong.
And its easier to teach children in 64.
But strengh of russians is also in special preapretion.
It means that they are more proffecional and spend for draughts almost all life.

Re: 8x8 training
Hi Juri, I am happy you replied. Also Tjalling thinks it is a good idea for children.
I suspect that it will not only be useful for children but also for more experienced players that are well trained in openings and midgame on 10x10 but have the tendency to conceptualize everything without doing the computations necessary in competition.
Of course you could be right, that it is an attitude problem, it's probably both.
BTW apologies for using the term 'Russian'...

We all went out from USSR' and USSR draughts school!
And "Kiev is the mother of russian cities"...
History is so complicated.
So no problems
