Hi,

I do not have any information about the next Open Dutch Championship Computerdraughts. Last year it was held in Decembre in Culemborg. What about 2008 ? Thank you for any information.

Last year the tournament was announced on September 16 by Leo Nagels, email lnagels@planet.nl.

Bereikbaarheid
Gorredijk ligt tussen Heerenveen en Drachten in en is afrit 10 op de A32. Parkeergelegenheid is er volop op het parkeerterrein Hofland of langs de Kerkewal

Programma
De deelnemers arriveren en installeren rond 09:00 uur.
De eerste ronde vangt aan om 09:30 uur.
De sluiting zal rond 17:00 uur zijn.
Prijsvraag
Toeschouwers die met een zelf gemaakt computerprogramma langskomen met daarop een (bord)spel maken kans op een de hoofdprijs van 150 euro.

Strange, normally the announcement is made by Leo Nagels himself, and for some time it was always in Culemborg.
I will also check what is going on here.

I have had contact with Leo, and he tought it would be nice if it was hosted somewhere else for a change.

Preliminary announcement for the open Dutch championship rapid Polish
Draughts for computerprograms 2008.

Day of the tournament: Sunday the 21-st of December 2008.

Location: Grand-Café / Restaurant "De Vrolijke Keizer" (translation : "The
Cheerfull Emporer")
Address: Hoofdstraat 35, 8401 BV, Gorredijk, The Netherlands.
Tel.: 0513-461415

Time: 09:30 Installing the hardware, 10.00 Start first round.

We play the tournament on the specified location by invitation of
draughts-club Gorredijk.
Chairman Johan Teake Dekker of draughts-club Gorredijk can be contacted by

Rules will be the same as during the tournaments of recent date (last year
we played 9 rounds with playing-time 15 minutes per round per participant;
after 75 moves arbitration if necessary).
Jaap Bus will again be the referee.

For you information I will not be able to attend this competition. My son will have a son/daugther in this period and I will then be in the south of France at this date.

My next competion will be the French Open computer tournament the 17th May 2009 in north of France.

The date was altered because of the holidayperiod + the availabilty of Jaap Bus.

Also for me (and Damage) it is very difficult to attend this time.
But i will (if it is 100% sure) post my decision to Leo Nagels.

As Ed and I have demonstrated Internet Matches are an alternative(although with some issues to be resolved).
I hope some day we can have an official Internet Tournament , with several programs.

I don't know if we need to develop some interface and protocol ourselves, or that we can use one of the "standard" sites for this?

Anyway meeting each other in real life and face to face is also big fun, so I don't propose to skip these tournaments
