1. Tournament will be played in Pavlovsk (Russia) , Profesora Molchanova street, 23, from 14th till 20th of March 2008
a. Arriving days March 12,13
b. On March 14 - VI th European Clubs Blitz-Games Championship
c. Closing Ceremony March 20 at 16.00 (main competition and blitz).


2. Rights to play has all clubs which send applications (only via Federation) to EDC before February 25. Applications should consist with full information about club (name, address,..) and full list of players (no limited number of players).

3. The games system will be set by EDC and announced to the competitors according to general rules.

4. During match teams consists of:
a. 4 players men's in teams
b. 2 players women's teams


5. Entrance fee: 100 (men's team) or 50 (women's team). Fee for Blitz Championship - 20

6. Prices: 2000 + 50% inscription money



7. Prices of accommodation:

Double rooms (shower/restroom for two numbers) - 650 roubles a day per person; ordinary double room - 950 roubles a day per person. Double two room, semi-luxury (restroom, shower, TV, refrigerator, telephone) - 1200 roubles a day per person. Meals not included in prices. For those interested, meals are provided at the hotel. Prices: breakfast - 75 roubles; lunch - 180 roubles; supper - 130 roubles. 1 euro = 36 roubles.

The 10th Confederation Cup will take place in Pavlovsk!

Pavlovsk was summer residence of Russian tsars. First works were begun here in 1777 when it was permitted to build the summer residence for the great tsar Pavel Petrovich, son of Catherine the Great, later called imperator Pavel I. Great architects, sculptors and painters took part in building the enormous park (about 600 ha), the palace and other constructions. Very close by to Pavlovsk is Pushkin, where there is Pushkin Lyceum, there are Alexander’s and Catherine’s palaces and parks. Briefly there are many interesting places to visit, so we recommend to arrive 2-3 days before.


Accommodation prices: Double room (one shower and bathroom shared by 2 rooms)- 650 roubles per night per person, simple double room-950 roubles per person per night, double half-lux (two rooms, bathroom, shower, TV, refrigerator, telephone) -1200 roubles per night per person. The food is not included. If you wish you can eat in the hotel. Prices: breakfast-75 roubles, lunch-180 roubles, supper- 130 roubles. 1 euro=36 roubles.

In the hotel there is a sauna, billiard, sport activity, computer room with Internet access, parking.

Park is situated in 200 meters from the hotel.


Days of arrival 12th and 13th of March. You can arrive earlier.

13th of March at 20.00 the representatives meeting.

14th of March the opening-ceremony and blitz.

15,16,17 – group tournaments

18th-free day before semifinal (excursion)

19th-semifinal

20th-final and the end of the Cup

21st - departure (if you wish you can stay longer)


If you arrive to Pulkovo airport we will meet you. If you arrive by train we will meet you on the train station in Pavlovsk. It is in 35 minutes from Vitebskiy train station or 20 minutes from Kupchino station (get to Kupchino by metro).


We guarantee 2000 euro plus 50% of inscription fees for prize-fund.

News EDC: Organizing EDC competition in Pavlovsk can cause large scandal!

Saint Petersburg. According to the information released by the President of the federation of the draughts of Saint Petersburg, Vladimir langin, organizing EDC Confderation cup in Pavlovsk can cause large scandal. It is why the competition is not included in the calendar of events of the northern city.

Letter of the President of the federation of the draughts of Saint Petersburg, Vladimir langin :

I officially report that the 10th confederation cup in Pavlovsk cannot have status of official European tournament. This tournament is not coordinated with the government of city and the federation of the draughts of city.
The position of the government of Saint Petersburg is single-valued - : Any tournament of this level must be included the official calendar of the competitions of city and be leaded under patronage of government. Official international tournaments are only included in the calendar of city from September- October after all agreements.
It is a mandatory process for all sports organizations of competitions in the city. The city declare that this compettion -confderation cup- is illegal . This is large scandal.

Everybody can go to PETERSBURG ! As I know, Mr.Maagi (EDC President) is in tuch with Russian FEDERATION and there is no problem for them with that competition.

Dear Vladimir - You have multi-CHAMPION - 2 x Europe + 4 x World, + ... (diffcult to count) tems etc... Please SUPPORT HIM if You can or just dont interupt SUCH a person to do something for draughts.

I'm sure that it will be GREAT EVENT !!!!
