TeX package to create diagrams

Post by ildjarn »

I received a mail from Alain Brobecker that he made a TeX package for creating diagrams for various games, including draughts and checkers.
Alain Brobecker wrote: I've just finished a tool to create square grid diagrams in the
TeX typesetting system. It allows to create Chess, Checkers,
Draughts, Go, Tic-tac-toe, Dots and boxes, puzzles... and fairy
variants of chess.

This is really great! I am a heavy LaTeX user, and it always stung not to be able to write draughts diagrams. One minor glitch is that the FEN notation uses the chess convention and not the draughts convention (which was a historical accident that didn't get corrected in the new PDN standard for reasons of backward compatibility).
