Hi,
Tomorow in the afternoon (Monday the 9th) (15h french time) will be held in Parthenay (France) an exhibition game between two teams.
The first team will be managed by Jean-Marc NJofang (GMI) with the help of several other strong players
The second team will be held be myself with the help of Damy and Kingsrow.
The initial position will be a position chosen by myself in which white will have a very significant advantage.
At the beginning the "human" team will choose its side : if it choose the white side the challenge for them will be to win, otherwise the challenge will be to draw.
For the time being the position I will propose is of course a secret but it will be a 18x18 position.
Normally you will be able to follow the game on the site http://www.dames10x10.fr/live

Hi,
Back to home I can give you some information about the exhibition matches between Damy+Kingsrow team and Ndjofang+Nbongo+Lognon team
The imposed initial position was the following

White to move
The first job of the human team was to choose its color under the following conditions:
with the white side the challenge was to win
with the black side the challenge was te draw
After an intense analysis the human team chose the white side in order to try and win.
Here is the game played on Monday 9th July

Damy+Kingsrow won this challenge. Ndjofang team admitted they were surprised by the move 6...17-21

The human team played this game very well but they lose in the engame part (41...13-18? instead of 41...11-17!).
Of course we all know that it is not easy to play an endgame against a computer, especially against Damy and Kingsrow, both programs with the 8 pieces database
The configuration I used was not that big:
2 Quad (8 cores) 2,3GHz and 12Gb RAM
I gave 4 threads to Damy and 4 threads to Kingsrow.
I perfectly know that it would have been better to give all the power to only one program because it is obvious that the calculation was basically made twice. In addition there was some concurencies to access the databases on disk by the two programs. But this exhibition match was here only for fun and I prefered to show a team of programs angainst a team of humans rather than a single program against a team of humans.
All participants enjoyed this exhibition and I am then very happy.
