Geweldig inderdaad dat Bert Dollekamp en zijn team dit voor 'de eeuwigheid' bewaard hebben! Hopelijk vindt Bert nog eens de tijd ook de beelden van de match Van der Wal-Wiersma te digitaliseren.

Weet jij dit misschien, Eric, zijn er ook (bewaarde) televisie uitzendingen van de WK-match Tsjizjov-Wiersma bekend? Of Sijbrands-Andreiko uit 1973? Of Wiersma-Wirny 1984?

Hello,

With the help of Damy I analysed some games of the Sijbrands -Tsjizjow match.

I guess that a lot of analyses has been made on the following position but I am not aware of them.
The white position seems very weak and my question is the following : is it possible to find a defense ?

Position after 24...04-10!

White to play

Damy plays here a spectacular variant :
25.42-37 09-14 26.26-21 17x26 27.38-32 11-17 28.32x23 17-21

White to play

and now 29.44-40 21x32 30.37x17 26x46 31.33-28 12x21 32.23x01 46x33 29x38 with probably a draw.

Isn't it beautiful ?

Rob Clerc in his analysis in newspaper Algemeen Dagblad, a day after the game, wrote about this position, after Chizhov's move 25.44-40:

Yes after 26.26-21 17x26 27.38-32 the move 27...11-17 gives white a defendable position.
The best answer is certainly :
26.26-21 17x26 27.38-32 25-30 28.24x35 and now two possibilities :
1) 28...14-20 with the same variant as you mentionned
2) 28...13-19 29.32x23 19x28 30.29-23 18x38 31.43x23 08-13 32.27x18 13x22 33.48-42 09-13 etc...

I do not know which of them is the best.

Do you know if Ton Sijbrands has analysed also this 2nd variant ?
