Hello Aart, this is very interesting! Are you already working on a 10x10 version (the international checkers version called 'draughts' and with more and more players
internationally from Senegal to Brazil to China to India. Will buy a new phone this next week and will take Android as a possibility into account. Best of luck with your project(s)!

I have no direct plans to implement a 10x10 version, but one never knows. I enjoy Android development, but just keeping up with feature requests for my other board games has consumed most of my spare time up until now. Also, with the increasing popularity of Android, I suspect the market will soon be flooded with much better versions than my own humble attempts.

Theo is right that 10x10 is the kind of "dammen" I grew up with, although I must admit that I joined the chess club across the hall of the checkers club in those days.

Hi Aart,

10x10 applications sure will be an important reason for draughts players to buy an Android phone and of course it will popularize the game that has much more possibilities than 8x8 checkers. Nice to find through your weblog the page of Martin Fierz who apparently has a
program that can almost keep up with Kings Row, incredible!
