New President FMJD: Mr. Vladimir Ptitsyn from Russia

Dear Draught and Checker friends,

I have the pleasure to inform you all about the General Assemble that has been held in Amsterdam at 22 and 23 October 2005. At the moment where we started to reconstruct in Berlin we managed to close old cases during a 2 year period. We also are now in a position that we are in our planning 2 years ahead.

This is very important for all FMJD tournaments so that we have the appropriate time to plan, organize and
execute tournaments. Also our financial structure is in balance essential for a good organization.

I am pleased to inform you that Checkers will be a special division in our FMJD. As section they are free to use there existing structure as well as there statutes. The FMJD is now the umbrella for all draughts!

Also it is a great pleasure to inform you that we have a new President: Mr. Vladimir Ptitsyn from Russia. Mr. Ptitsyn has been elected unanimously. It is my personal believe that Vladimir can create the best possibilities especially for 64 and 100 square. For the balance in our board Russia is taken its place!

Consequently we have accepted the wish of Mr. Shovkoplias to resign as the support of his government was impossible to achieve. I wish Mr. Shovkoplias will be active in Ukraine in a way we know him.

In the CPI we say goodbye to Mr. Yushkevitch as Sergei had expressed his wish not to continue. Sergey all the best and thanks for the work you have been doing. We hope to have a new committee before the end of the year.

The following countries have been accepted as new members: Slovenia, Somalia, Hungary and Uganda. Welcome
on board!

We also have agreed as GA with the statute and bye laws change unanimous. Most of this has been done to modernize our system as well as to formalize the board of directors in the new structure.

I believe that with the achievements we have made we are ready for the future. Be aware that the FMJD has a voluntary
board so I can not exclude that we never make mistakes. I can inform you however that we will learn fast in case
we make them.

Sincerely,

Pieter Hildering

FROM FFJD FORUM
