Hello Hanco,

The fourth man of the picture is GILBERT CHARLES of WATTRELOS ( Suburb of LILLE). He is the best teacher of Draughts in France.
WATTRELOS is a big club with a lot of young players ( CEDRIC DUSART, AMANDINE STOCK, JEAN-FRANCOIS SURANTYN for instance).
The young player of WATTRELOS named SEBASTIEN DUPLOUY finished in final B-Group in KORTRIJK ( COURTRAI) today !!

I received a mail from Johan DEMASURE, referee of the tournament.

Last game : JM N'DJOFANG had just to draw P. HOOGTEIJlING to win the tournament.
Peter proposed the draw during the game. JM refused !!! and lost because of timer !!!.
And L. SEKONGO WON !!!!

These things happen Jacques.
A couple of months ago Kees Thijssen in the last round of a blitztournament
in Amsterdam only had to make a draw with an average player to win the tournament.
Kees didn't want to offer a draw, and what happened?
The average player surprised Kees with a little combination,
Kees lost the game and Jean Marc Ndjofang won the tournament.
Kees was sick for three days!

So, now almost the same happened to Jean Marc. Even worse, because
Peter is a little more than average and it was Peter who offered Jean Marc
the victory, which was refused by Jean Marc in his vanity!

Long live the King, Léopold Sekongo!!!

Sometimes some big players are too confident !!

Another ROUEN player named BRUNO FERET finished in final B-GROUP today. He will be in NIJMEGEN and DEN HAAG next month.

Photo of him where he played against L. NICAULT during play-off of half-speed tournament of NORMANDY LEAGUE :

Amid spectators, you can see DANIEL DUVAL who finished 12th today.

No no no! I didn't propose a draw during the game against Ndjofang!

(because you like the big coloured letters I'll use them also this time... )

I expected that Ndjofang would propose a draw at the beginning of the game because it would bring him the victory. But he didn't...
When Ndjofang lost because of the clock, he was also in a losing position on the board (I could make a winning combination after his last move).

I also wrote Johan Demasure an e-mail, and he changed the text on his website...
