Re: 3-move ballots programs
The current Damage GUI (Damage2026) supports this option.
But Im still in the update mode (together with Codex).

Re: 3-move ballots programs
And in addition, as the Damage2026 GUI support HUB, several other engines can use this as the host GUI.
So far I tested (and it worked).
* Kingsrow (hub version)
* Tornado (special version from Frank)
* Horizon
* Scan
* Moby Dam

Re: 3-move ballots programs
Bert, thanks for your reply. These are the normal versions. There is no need to use dxp or hub. I'm more interested in playing between two computers in a tournament.
Re: 3-move ballots programs
And you want to operate the computers yourself, so no computer-computer communication?

In Tornado with Bordstand / Bewerken... you can setup the initial position, and with Bordstand / Wissel zetkleur you can set the color to move first.Krzysztof Grzelak wrote: Tue Aug 04, 2026 14:17 I have a question. Can the following programs below play 3-move ballot openings?

After this you can start the game as usual.

Re: 3-move ballots programs
Dragon can, but you need to put a pdn file with the positions in the dxp directory. I forgot to add that to the installer.
I will fix in the next update, working on that.
You will also be able to run damexchange directly from the engine, for any list of pdn files. No GUI overhead. Just start the dragon64r, or dragon64rSSE2.exe:

damexchange> cores 8
Dragon will use 8 search threads

Fischer time set to 1 + 0.1 seconds

DamExchange connected

Re: 3-move ballots programs
Krzysztof, for DAM 2.2 you just need to have a PDN file with the set of games that represent the ballot openings. With DAM 2.2 you can open that file and select the desired game as opening position, and then start manual play from there.

Re: 3-move ballots programs
But does this only apply to Dam 2.2 or does it also apply to the latest version of Moby Dam.Harm Jetten wrote: Fri Aug 07, 2026 15:34 Krzysztof, for DAM 2.2 you just need to have a PDN file with the set of games that represent the ballot openings. Re: 3-move ballots programs
The same applies if you have first connected Dam 2.2 to Moby Dam via DamExchange in the usual way.
- Open the PDN ballot file in Dam 2.2 and select your desired opening.
- Start game dialog appears, enter moves/minutes and side to play ("this side" means you the player, Moby Dam's opponent).
- Press OK, if it's your (Player's) side to make the first move enter it on the board, or if it 's Moby Dam's move it will play.
