Hi Krzysztof,
You probably mean the tournament will be resumed after the fault is removed. It's a pity that one of the computers has a bad memory chip, especially now the memory prices are very high, I hope the problem can be resolved.
Edit:
Are you sure that you need a 32 GB SIMM, or do you have eight 16 GB SIMM's sitting in that computer? If you have eight SIMM's you could temporary remove four, then there is still 64 GB left, I suppose that it won't matter much for the tournament.
It could also be a timing problem, if you have the memory overclocked with AMD EXPO, the first thing would be to try turning that off. In my experience overclocking memory does almost nothing, it only increases the risk of timing errors.

Re: Swiss Tournament Programs
I have to wait a few days. Then I will know everything. I never overclock either the processor or RAM. The worst thing is that now it is difficult to buy new RAM. I have 8 sticks of 16 GB RAM.Joost Buijs wrote: Tue May 19, 2026 14:40

Re: Swiss Tournament Programs
I don't mean explicit overclocking, but if by any chance EXPO is enabled in the BIOS it could create problems like the one you see. Installing the latest BIOS for your mainboard could help too, sometimes the manufacturer (in your case Gigabyte) fixes DRAM incompatibility with a BIOS update.Krzysztof Grzelak wrote: Tue May 19, 2026 16:17

If there really is something wrong with the memory it can only be a single 16 GB DDR4 stick which will cost you around 120 to 200 euro at the moment. If you have to replace a stick the best is to take one with the same timings as the ones already in the mainboard, even better is to take one from the same brand and type. The repair-shop you brought the computer to should know.

Re: Swiss Tournament Programs
Krzysztof,
which programs played in the 3th round on the computer with the memory fault?
As this could impact results, although i assume probability is maybe low.

You are right and I agree with your opinion 100 percent. Program Memtest86+ showed 32GB RAM error.Joost Buijs wrote: Tue May 19, 2026 17:42 I don't mean explicit overclocking, but if by any chance EXPO is enabled in the BIOS it could create problems like the one you see. Re: Swiss Tournament Programs
Krzysztof, thanks for answering.
The background of my question is related to the loss of Dragon.
According to my analysis, them main error from dragon was move 51. ... 33-29, which yields a loss, whereas 7-11 is a draw,
I hope Ed can also analyze the position/game.
I don't expect a program like Dragon to make such an error with a 8p DB, and 32 core search process.
So I though or the computer had a problem, or Dragon has a bug.
Not impossible that Michel was not able to test 32-cores, so the program still has an issue with this number.
But I will await the verdict of Ed.

I think I will revert to version 4.6.2 in the tournament. I noticed that Dragon has huge problems with the ending database.BertTuyt wrote: Tue May 19, 2026 18:35 Krzysztof, thanks for answering.
