The Israeli Draughts Federation was founded in 1974 by Shlomo Borokhov. In 1978, the Israeli team performed at the European Championships in Tbilisi, although there were no diplomatic relations between the USSR and Israel. Shlomo Borokhov played for the legendary Israeli team, which won the bronze medal!
Shlomo Borokhov for many years served as chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank for Development of Israel Industry, he was the head of large Israeli enterprises.
The tournament for the cup and prizes, that was established by the honorary president of the Israeli Draughts Federation, Shlomo Borokhov in 2012, have become a tradition.
The winner is awarded a cup. The first five places receive prizes: 1000 shekels, 800 shekels, 600 shekels, 400 shekels, 200 shekels. The prize for the best result among women is 200 shekels.

Regulations
The tournament will be conducted according to the rules of international draughts (100 fields). One of the goals of the tournament is to expand the international contacts of Israeli draughts players and enhance their skills. The tournament will be held on October 24-26, 2017 in the office of the Bukharian Jewish Congress. Address: Ben Zvi Street 42, Tel Aviv.
Payment for the travel, accommodation, meals, as well as a fee of € 20 are at the expense of participants. International Grandmasters are exempt from the fee and get € 100 as partial compensation for their expenses. Applications for participation are accepted until October 1, 2017 at http://israel.fmjd.org/en/israel-2017
The tournament is held according to the Swiss system with 2 or 3 rounds per day (a total of 6 or 7 rounds). All draughts players are welcome, from Israel as well as from other countries, regardless of age and gender. Time control: 1 hour 20 minutes per game for each participant.

Als het mogelijk is dit te combineren met mijn werk doe ik mee. Tel Aviv is een bruisende, interessante stad, en voor iemand die van kunst houdt is er (heel) veel te doen.

Alexander, op de gelinkte webpage krijg ik niet simpel een formulier om me op te geven, dus misschien is dat iets om door te geven zodat het aangepast kan worden?

Denk ik niet (althans zoals het nu er uit ziet).
Maar ik ben in Tel Aviv al meerdere keren geweest.
Misschien zal Arjan van den Berg meedoen.
