S. FEDIN- A. GEORGIEV : 0-2

Image

67th move : Whites played 30-25. Ater that move they could have drawn.
But with 67. 14-9 I think it is automatically equal. Am I wrong ?

Not automatic, but I think you're right.
Bad luck for Getmanski.

Actually, I thought the end position ( where Fedin gave up ) is still draw

Image

If white player does 72.15-10 4x15 73.14-9
the position should flow to the end of the game 5 against 2 , where white is getting control over the headline and black has just 3 kings.

Well, champion is always lucky. So it doesn't make the victory of Georgiev smaller.

Fedin 21.07.1990
Safin 17.01.1988

The game Fedin-Georgiev didn't end at 71 move. Players had no time to write. May be Georgiev will restore the game soon.

59.20x9 23x32 60.9-3!!

Il nero solo ora si rende che sull'unica mossa valida, 31-37 segue la diabolica 3-26! 37x46 26-37!! 32x41 25-20 +

Il nero, desolato, firma la resa

45th move : Blacks played 19-23. It wasn't a so good decision as A. SHAYBAKOV made capital out of this 45th move.
45... 19-23 was not a bad move!
46. 35-30 (??) was the beginning of whites victory, but only after the awful black move 46... 2-7??
In stead of 2-7??, 13-19 was (almost) winning voor black as 37-32 is not possible.

It's not strange Jacques.
Andrej Kalmakov is very often in big time trouble (as you remember he is Blitzchampion of Russia!!) and the position in Shaybakov - Kalmakov is a difficult one. So it's not strange that Kalmakov made some mistakes. He made some before in this tournament. And Ainur Shaybakov very clever took advantage of the situation.
