Chief referee A. Fedoruk wrote in his comments: Curious, but lightweight. The move 2.gf2 is memorable, a clean finale . Rating: "good".

A. Nagumanov writes: A variation of the author composition without sacrificing the king on the g5 cell , participated in the previous Moscow championship. (signature).
A. Fedoruk writes: "Combination play has been strengthened, but the arrangement of checkers has become even worse than in the position of the ideological predecessor (A. Fomin, 13th Moscow Championship, No. 38). Many checkers do not play in combination. The absolute rating is excellent, the relative one is good. The primary rating of judge A. Winderman is 7.5 points (?)
...............................................
Judge A. Vinderman wrote: No. 18 6x6 1.hg7 x interesting and hidden mechanism of destroying the black king. The finale is also good. very good miniature . The average assestment of the 6th USSR championship( 6,5 points) is saved .

A. Vinderman wrote :" No. 19 8x8 1.dc7 x improvement of the author's position from the Moscow Championship of 1986. new thematic blow in combination with a sacrifice of a king( 5 kings participate in the solution ) and another exact final. In the 6th USSR Championship it was recognized as excellent with an average rating of 8.5 points, and in the 14th Moscow Championship 7.5 points. "
A. Fedoruk crossed out this rating in his report and put a score of 6.5 points.
In the preliminary results of the 6th USSR Championship, the judges gave positions No. 19 (No. 131) the following ratings: A. Winderman (8 points), M. Ben (8 points), I. Bugayev (9 points). The average rating is 8.5 points. After receiving the preliminary results of the 6-th championship, the chief judge A. Fedoryuk, without any reason, contacted judge I. Bugayev with the aim of revising his preliminary rating. As a result, I. Bugayev lowered his rating up to 8.5 points and A. Fedoryuk accepted the judge’s change of his assessment, that exceed the authority of the chief judge.

"Great combination idea, but there are many drawbacks: a) it is necessaty to prove the correctness of the checkers' placement, b) unnatural initial checkers' arrangement, c) checkers a1 and h4 do not play in combination, d) inaccurate finale in both branches.".
A. Fedoruk gave an incorrect characterization of this composition. The black checker h4 functions as a barrier for black king during the final strike of the whites from the "h2" cell. The white checker a1 improves the external perception of the composition, creates a dynamic balance of power between the parties and plays actively in the endgame.

At the 6th USSR Championship, the judges gave the following scores to this composition: A. Malyuta - 7.5 points, V. Matus - 8 points, M. Ben - 7.5 points. The requirement in the rules to prove the possibility of the last move of white in a proof position was cancelled at the All- Soviet Union Conference of Checkers Composers, held in February 1988 .

A. Fedoruk wrote: "The mechanism of destroying two black kings is borrowed: the ideological predecessor of S. Yushkevich is correct in the solution and ends with a classical finale. . Due to a different finale (also classical) and a new detail - the shock capture of the black checker h4.
No. 21; represents a new composition. But No. 21 hardly deserves a high rating for the following reasons: the ideological predecessor, the black checkers, a7 and b6 do not play in combination, unpleasant positional fuss after 1...g3 3.f4 (d2), etc. I consider the rating of judge A. Winderman at 7 points to be too high. The final rating is 6.5 points.
.................................
A. Vinderman :No. 20 10x11 dc7 an interesting approach to the combinational undermining of the f8 square when hitting from the h2 square. The disadvantage is the pretentiousness of the initial arrangement. Score 7 points ".

A. Vinderman wrote in his report on the preliminary results: No. 21 6x6; A difficult miniature to evaluate. It is made in its own way and designed, perhaps, better than in S. Yushkevich miniature. In the finale - an old etude. The score is 7 points.
A. Fedoruk in red indicates in A. Vinderman's report: taking into account the ideological predecessor, the score is too high.

A. Nagumanov wrote on the paper of the judge's copy of the chief judge A. Fedoruk: "You can play 8.ed2 x". A. Fedoruk wrote: "The sacrifice of the king on the "g5" cell is interesting and original. Disadvantages: a) poor setup, b) rough introduction. c) the b8 and f8 checkers do not play in combination.
Ps: A. Winderman's 7.5 points assestment is too high. Taking into account the ideological predecessor, I would not give more than 7 points.".
