A. Fedoruk wrote :

The black checker h4 functions as a barrier for black king during the final strike of the whites from the "h2" cell.The white checker a1 improves the external perception of the composition, creates a dynamic balance of power between the parties and plays actively in the endgame.
At the 6th USSR Championship, the judges gave the following scores to this composition: A. Malyuta - 7.5 points, V. Matus - 8 points, M. Ben - 7.5 points. The requirement in the rules to prove the possibility of the last move of white in a proof position was cancelled at the All- Soviet Union Conference of Checkers Composers, held in February 1988 .
