Hurricane HUGO destroyed my island in September 1989. I know how can be damaged a country because of an hurricane.

In GUADELOUPE after HUGO devastated 75 % of houses where I lived, I organized the food and clothes rescues. It was a difficult moment.

I know how badly when you have no informations because no radios can broadcast.

IT WAS DIFFICULT MOMENTS FOR CITIZENS OF GUADELOUPE in 1989.
But we were lucky because my island is a french caribbean dependency.
FRANCE brought any help we need.

I am usually pray for all caribbeans victims of hurricanes.

It's really terrible what these hurricanes can do Jacques!
One of the real bad things in the beautiful Caribbeans.

Yesterday on Dutch television the weatherman said it was for the first time in 103 years (!) that a hurricane came in the neighbourhood of our ABC-islands. Fortunately hardly any damage was done.

But the pictures from Grenada showed completely destroyed villages.
It's good try to do something for Grenada now.

News from RAOUL ALIAS after HURRICANE IVAN passed North of ABC's archipelago Tuesday night :

Thank God that just before reaching Curaçao Ivan decided or God decide to change direction. We are very lucky because this hurricane is (for us was) realy something serious. I am sure that if it had passed over Curaçao I would not be able now to write you these words. I hope the best for Haiti,,Jamaica ,Cuba and the USA with Ivan. thanks for your concern and till soon.

Excuse me, Hensley told me last night, but I forgot...
Gedion van Eiken, Rhazul Sebelon, Mijail Eisden and Quincy Lopez are from Curaçao.
Nicholas Ramsundar and Devendra Dinidal are from Trinidad and Tobago.
And Rajesh Dipai and Rodney Lion are the official representatives from the Republic of Surinam.

Important is that what I called 'youthgroup' is not just a youthgroup, but it's the official (4th) Championship of Panamerica for youth!

Last year, KEES THIJSSEN had won L. SHANG WONG. This is the same result this year.
We are very happy to see two best Haïtians players in WILLEMSTAD after all politics and weather problems in their countries.
