Hi Michel,
I noticed another error in the Dragon version 4.8.2. It is not possible to generate a database of endings on my processor and with my RAM. My processor is AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX 3.0 GHz and my memory is Kingston HyperX Fury 128 GB.

That system should work well.

Can you send the error? Which option did you select when generating the databases?

The worst thing is that it doesn't show anything. A black window flashes, and nothing else happens. The same error occurs as in version 4.8.0 - and nothing further happens.

I think i have found the issue. There is a bug if you have more than 40 threads, and your system has 64. I will fix in the next update.

I don't want to be rude, but look: you are still using Dragon version 4.8.0. Weird is that your computer only seems to have 16 GB of memory.

I tried the same on my obsolete 32 core AMD 3970X, it shows all the memory, and it doesn't hang.

First try to install the latest version. If it's compiled for max. 40 threads you can try to disable SMT.

I didn't try to generate databases with it, because it is probably easier to download them.

I see now now you show the same old picture twice, so forget my message about the version, but 16 GB of memory is really weird if you have 128 GB RAM.

Yes, that's true - because the same image is in version 4.8.2. I used one desktop computer and one laptop. And I still have the same thing.

It's impossible to guess that you were using a laptop instead of a 2990WX with 128 GB of RAM, be more clearly next time please.

Well, it says it should take approximately 1 day (I assume this means 24 hours), maybe you have to wait a little longer. It also depends upon the computer, the 2990WX has about half the speed of current processors, so it could take 48 hours. Of course you have 32 cores, but you don't know how well the program scales, so it's impossible to guess how long it will take.

* Minor optimisaton for +2% speed.
* bugfix in endgame generation for CPU's with 40+ threads.
* damexchange: can now be run directory from the console application
* damexchange: support for fisher timecontrols and very fast games (0.01 seconds/move)
* damexchange: support less that 25 ms / move
* damexchange: directly in console program

The program has gotten a lot stronger, but it is still not near the strength of kingsrow yet.

Score against version dragon 4.8, at 5 seconds/game single core: 11760 games, win:4015 lose:1664 draw:6081 score:1.200 (+/- 0.006)

Great new, it's that kind of things that we are waiting for after your very very long travel far of here .
As Gijsbert, Bert, Joost, Frank, Ed and the others, continuing improving engines, this forum will be very interesting for the future of international draughts community.
