Hi Hanco,
This picture is interesting. 2 people standing and maybe grinning behind a calm and confident operator as he presses the clock. While the opponent, his face half turned away, stares at his computer screen. Can someone give the names to the people in the picture? Which game is being played ...

In the long run World Champion vs Computer matches will also increase popularity of draughts. These matches will inspire more programmers to write programs. This will increase competition that will increase the level of play of the programs. The publicity will also generate more people interested in ...

I really have no way to predict how Kingsrow would do in that situation. I could use it to analyze the games that were played, and possibly find some errors that were made, but Kingsrow might make its own strategic errors, so who knows? Don't try to infer too much about Kingsrow from the Culemborg ...

I know what you mean when you say that a computer plays "perfectly" but it is only a theoretical point of view. In draughts game (and I guess it is the same in checkers game) the best players begin classicaly by accumulating very small advantages that put their opponents in positions more and more ...

Ed, you are right Tinsley could not have won those games. But Tinsley was such a great player maybe in some of his games he played perfectly. So he would still have drawn the games. It would be interesting to see what percentage of Tinsley’s moves was perfect? Or did Tinsley play any games where he ...

Examining Champion Tinsley's Moves
Many have claimed former world champion Marion Tinsley played nearly perfect 8x8 checkers. Today's programs do play nearly perfect 8x8 checkers. Has anyone compared Tinsley's moves to today's computer's moves? Would he have won all those games if he had played against today's computers?

Re: Damy is under development
Hello,
For your information Damy is still under development. I worked hard to build a rather optimised 6 pieces endgame database and I am working on the 7 pieces endgame database. The challenge is very interesting and I hope to have some results (a significant part of this database) before the end ...

DAMY has won 9 games and played only one draw !!! Congratulations to Gérard Taille. Is this his first time competing? Did he say how he was able ...
