World Cup Veterans 100 sq.
Increasingly the “silver generation� is being drawn into sports. On the world level the Master Games cater for this category, an organization we can join, now that we are a voting member of the GAISF. The 64 Brazilian/Russian section already has a Veterans World Cup, and it will be right to harmonize the two.
Proposal:
- Swiss tournament with open inscription
- Once every two years
- Participants may be obliged to pay (part of) their own stay
- Organizer may attract “gray grandmasters� with start money
- Participation money for FMJD
- Auspices fees for FMJD
Qualification:
- 60 years and over
- qualified through national federation, on the basis of recent performance
- special invitees on the basis of rating
Options:
- Separate tournament
- Part of existing open tournament
- Possible inclusion in Master Games
Calendar:
- In the even years
- In the international space of the calendar: September-November, avoiding Bijlmer
