Ubuntu 64 bits
GNU g++ compiler -O2 is faster than -O3
I also tried the intel compiler. GNU is a little bit faster.
SDE: Eclipse
for Python: Eric
I tried to implement SVN in Eclipse, but not active yet.
I like to promote Python here, specially as a generator for c-code. For GUI development, I think I made the wrong choice: Tk is not as user friendly as I hoped it would be.
I was too early, now the are nice environments available for GUI development

lookup
maybe we can make a little lookup-table for all programs and their software and hardware differences.
Like
- processor
- number of cores
- memory
- Openingsbook (y/n)
- EndGameDatabase (1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8)
- Programming Language
- etc.
Sorted by Date ofcourse. Because anyone can change their implementation rapidly between tournaments in a year.

Computer draughts tournament in France
Gerard, perhaps you know, or someone else -- has there been a public announcement of the computer draughts tournament coming up in May? I don't think I have seen it. It is only a few weeks away and I would like to see a description of the rules, etc.

I received this email today (and then remembered I had also received an announcement of the tournament a few months ago):
Dear Programmers,
For the moment, the following programs have confirmed their participation :
Cerberus
Dream
KingsRow
Damage
Damy
TD King
Dam 2.2
Sjende Blynn
Tornado
Horizon (the new name of BoomStraDam)
I am waiting confirmation (and I hope some good news) from Flits, Buggy, Dios, Virtual Draughts.
The exact address is :
"Salle Martel"
rue Salvadore Allende
ARLEUX (zip code 59151)
France
Day of the tournament : Sunday 17 th of May 2009
Time: 09:30 Installing the hardware, 10:00 Start first round.
Rules will be the same as during the last tournaments :
- Each player plays against each other player (it's a "Round Robin tournament" in english or "toutes rondes" in French)
- usually 75 moves in 20 minutes and after 75 moves by arbitration decision, if necessary.
Our referee will be Mr Jaap Bus.
On the 10th of may, I will announce the definitive list of participants.
Friendly Greetings,
Saïd
