By the way, what is going on around Macaux, Jacques. I understand he will be forced to resign from FFJD because of fraud??

FFJD forum shows heavy crisis in FFJD after three members of FFJD's CD resigned this month. Henri Macaux spent € 3500 without authorization of CD during Beijing 2008. Macaux received free tickets from Aeroflot for draughtsplayers of France. But he didn't tell that to the FFJD and the FFJD treasury paid the money for the tickets to Macaux... Will FFJD report Macaux to police and take him to court?

A first solution of FFJD crisis could be find : H. MACAUX will resign from FFJD tournament direction. GILLES TAILLANDIER (DIJON) could be sworn in.

But will the three members -N. GUIBERT, C. PILLENIERE & L. NICAULT- who resigned from FFJD CD will be back ? Wait & see !!

Lélio Marcos: dates for the WC 2009 São Paulo are: 15, 16 October, arrival days. 17 October, Opening Ceremony. 18 October, 1st round.

With "someone" I did not refer to Marcos. Too fast a conclusion Hanco, but I referred to Hebert Coffy.
By the way, does anyone knows how the WC will be played? Groups, participatants, Finals etc???

Let us not keep confusing dates here. We should work with the official dates of the FMJD, and not start a discussion based on what someone just post on line. Unless the FMJD announces another date, October 15 is the starting date.

Lélio Marcos is not someone, but the main organizer of the event.

Ther are some questions I have that are not really clear to me, and maybe the board of the PADCF can give a reaction on this. 1: Alix and Kemnaad are the reserve. Does it mean that the #7 of PADCF is ALIX? or is there some decision made that is still a secret to the outside world. Can we be more OPEN on this. 2: Can the PADCF board state in what cases ALIX and Kemnaad will be eligible to fill in. E.g. If Forbin can not make it to the WC, will Alix take his place or the next guy from Guadeloupe. Who will fill in say for instance Dr. Sadiek can make it to the WC - Alix or Kemnaad. We need to be clear on these issues to prevent frustration in the organisation....The PADFC needs to be more OPEN. 3. When was it officially anounced that 5 countries need to represent the PADCF. I don't recall seeing any correspondence on this.

Hi Rudi PACDF is open. Don´t use this kind of expression. We are working for developing draughts in American and we are very open. You can find in the FMJD regulations decided in the end of last year that America should qualify players from differents countries. And Africa from 6 differents countries. The idea is very simple: WC 2009 in Brazil needs many countries and not many players from few countries. The idea is to get around 32 countries. So, the firs in the reserve list of America is Mr. Joseph Leon Paul, because he is from USA and he was qualified in the first 8 places. If Sadiek can´t play in WC 2009 Brazil, then his place will go to the next in the qualification, Alix Louis, But, Alix is not a new country, than will go to the next one, Kemnaad, because is this situation, Kemnaad will be a new country. If Forbin can´t go, he will be replaced by a player from new country, and this player will be from T&T. Did you understand ? It´s clear and open

Sadiek verrast door competitiesysteem Pan-Am

Paramaribo - John Sadiek is semikampioen geworden op het Pan-Amerikaans damkampioenschap in Brazilië en is de enige vertegenwoordiger van Suriname op het wereldkampioenschap later dit jaar eveneens in Brazilië.

“Ik ben tevreden”, zegt hij desgevraagd. Sadiek was in principe al blij met de zesde plaats, omdat daarmee het WK al gehaald zou zijn. Later had hij door dat hij hoger kon eindigen.
Tijdens het toernooi was Sadiek ontspannen. “Ik had een zalige tijd in het hotel met een behoorlijke rustperiode”, geeft hij aan. Als Sadiek de finale haalt van het wereldkampioenschap is hij grootmeester. Nu is hij internationaal meester. “Dat zal ik niet op een presenteerblad krijgen, maar niets is onmogelijk.” Sadiek zegt niet zoveel tijd te hebben om met een sparringpartner te trainen. Hij gaat daarom partijen analyseren en de barrages en het sneldammen met de computer blijven doen op weg naar het WK.

In het Pan-Am-toernooi is het Fisher-systeem toegepast dat progressief genoemd wordt. “Het is eigenlijk nooit toegepast, nergens in de internationale damwereld, ook niet in het dam-Mekka Nederland.” Aan Sadiek was ook gezegd dat er geen barrage gespeeld zou worden. In dat geval zou hij kampioen zijn geworden, nadat hij samen met Ricardo Pierre, João Batista Viveiros Brandão en Humberto Bifolco een gelijk aantal punten had. Voor aanvang van het round-robin systeem merkte de toernooidirecteur op dat er barrage gespeeld zou worden. "Dat was niet logisch omdat je niet twee spelers met twaalf en twee met elf punten barrage laat spelen. Ze zouden een gelijk aantal punten moeten hebben. Ik dacht ‘laat maar, want straks ben ik weer in Brazilië’.”
Er was volgens Sadiek ook onduidelijkheid over het aantal dammers per land dat zich zou plaatsen voor het wereldkampioenschap. In dat opzicht vindt hij dat Haïti is benadeeld en Brazilië bevoordeeld.

Over Rinaldo Kemnaad, die zevende werd en net buiten de WK-boot viel, zei hij dat die een sterke start maakte. “Maar na het verlies tegen Miguel Almanzar had ik de indruk dat hij een downperiode doormaakte”, aldus Sadiek. Hij zegt regelmatig online te verliezen van Almanzar.
William Orie deed het volgens Sadiek niet onverdienstelijk. “Maar hij kon niet de stootkracht ontwikkelen om goed af te ronden.”

Over zichzelf vindt Sadiek dat hij agressief gespeeld heeft. Zijn slechtste wedstrijd was zijn eerste tegen de 73-jarige Amerikaan Gregory Solodukho, die afkomstig is uit Ukraïne. “Ik heb die man onderschat, maar ben toch op een vrij gelukkige manier aan de overwinning gekomen.”
De sterkste partij van Sadiek was tegen Fabrice Maggiore uit Guadeloupe en zijn makkelijkste was in de tweede ronde tegen Raul Alias van Curaçao, die hij wegspeelde.-.

Andre LECLERC (Quebec, Montral) wrote me about haitians players. He sent messages to LOUICEUS SHANG WONG & ANTHONY ALEXANDRE -they were born in PORT-AU-PRINCE and live in MONTREAL- in order to have news about RICARDO PIERRE (perhaps unhabitant of haïtian capital).
As soon as possible there will be breaking news here when we will have more about draughts players.

J'ai écris à Shang Wong et Anthony Alexandre qui sont tous deux originaires de Port-au-Prince, mais je n'ai pas eu de nouvelles encore. Je leur demandais aussi s'ils avaient des nouvelles de leurs collègues damistes. Car je crois que Ricardo est de Port-au-Prince. Quant à nos autres joueurs montréalais, Cherenfant est originaire de Cap Haitien, Paulvin Simon de St-Marc, Fresnel Joseph des Gonaïves.

12 Aug. – 26 Sep. 2010

On the 09th of August 2010 the Curacao National Senior Draught Championship 2010 was started with 16 players divided in 2 groups of 8 players.

From 12 Aug. till 02 Sep. 2010 the classification rounds were played.
The 4 players with the highest score of each group were qualified to the final (High Class) of the championship.
That took place from 07 till 26 of September 2010.

On Sunday 26 September 2010 the championship came to an end with
Mr. Rudsel Wolf as champion of the Curacao National Senior Draughts Championship 2010.

With this result he obtains the right to the title of FMJD Mf.

Together with Mr. Carlos Lorevil they will be represented Curacao in next up coming Pan. American Championship.

As referee I was in charge of the whole arbitration of the championship.
This championship was organized and presided by the Curacao Draught Federation.

Wiersma geeft startsein schooldammen



PARAMARIBO-De Surinaamse Dambond heeft van 1 tot en met 15 maart internationaal grootmeester dammen Harm Wiersma te gast. Hij zal de damkampioen en semi damkampioen PL dammen 2011 voorbereiden op hun deelname aan de Panam damkampioenschappen te Curaçao (14 maart tot 1 april).

Wiersma zal ook de kick off geven aan het schooldammen. De Surinaamse Dambond streeft ernaar om in het bijzonder de jeugd te interesseren in deze tak van sport. Wiersma zal als onderdeel van de kick-off damwedstrijden spelen met jeugdige dammers. Het geheel begint om 10.00uur op de Shri Ramschool aan de Botromankiweg.

Tot de aanwezigen behoren de minister van Onderwijs en Volksontwikkeling, de directeur Sportzaken, de burgervader en het bestuur van de Surinaamse Dambond.

E komishon organisadó di e kampionato ta Clifton Agata, Hensley Rondei i Raoul Alias. Ainda no a keda kompletamente kla ku e parti finansiero di e organisashon di e kampionato, pero e komishon tin tur konfiansa ku esaki lo keda realisá promé ku e komienso di e kampeonato.

Paisnan ku lo partisipá den e kampionato ta Korsow, Canada, USA, Brazil, Sürnam, Trinidad & Tobago, Repúblika Dominikana, Haiti, Guadeloupe, Barbados, Costa Rica, Panamá i Grenada.

Tijdens het 16de PanAmerikaans Damkampioenschap op Curaçao zijn de laatste twee plaatsen voor het WK in Urk en Emmeloord te verdienen. Het is niet mogelijk dat twee landgenoten zich kwalificeren. Dus als twee Curaçaoënaars bovenaan eindigen, gaat alleen de hoogstgeplaatste Curaçaoënaar door en mag de nummer drie, uit Trinidad & Tobago, uit de VS, Haïti, Grenada, Canada of Suriname, ook naar het WK.
