The final classification is without surprise.
Ramon Sakidin has two nationalities, Dutch and Surinam. He was born and raised in Surinam, but lives in Holland (Purmerend) since more than 20 years. Ramon is a grandfather since two years. His ancestors are from what is now called Indonesia. So you can call Ramon a cosmopolitan, as he regularly visits his family and friends in Surinam and Indonesia and Curaçao!
The best draughtsplayer from Surinam MI Guno Burleson, couldn't be in Willemstad this year, unfortunately.
To me the final classification is a surprise, because I didn't expect MF Vladimir Rejc to make a draw in the last round with GMI Ndiaga Samb!! Bad luck for the excellent Sambadancer, who dreamed a couple of years about being able to visit the wonderful island of Curaçao!
The Haitians did well again, just like in this year's tournament in Guadeloupe.
Organizer Raoul Alias, from the village Jongbloet (Young blood), Curaçao, was very pleased and happy with the tournament.
GMI Kees Thijssen won his fourth tournament this year!!!! After becoming Champion of the Netherlands, he won the 23rd Amsterdam Easternchampionship (Paastoernooi), Nijmegen Open Championship of the Netherlands and now the 3rd International Open Curaçao.
