Flits self-learning mode
Flits self-learning mode
Hi all,
For those who know it, Flits has a kind of manual self-learning option that permit to adjust his strenght.
I am working on , just add it to flits and you will see the strength.
Actually, the draw rate against Scan and Kingsrow it's around 99.99%. I haven't yet optimized it's for the 2 move ballots.
Sidiki.

Re: Flits self-learning mode
In all honesty, I'm totally not aware of a self-learning option in Flits, nor do I believe that Flits would be capable in a draw rate of 99.99% against the most recent versions of Scan and Kingsrow. This value implies at most 1 loss in a 3.move ballot.
My very short summary, totally impossible!
So hope you can provide more proof and details.

You are right, i abused with the words, it's why to be clear, i wrote "à kind of manual self-learning"
So this mean that this work it's done by un humain. I want to ask, i suppose that you have Flits, if it's the case, please, whitout the 2 moves or 3 ballots dxp system, in regular game, in 10 games what's the draw rate of Flits on your computer?
Also, i don't know if it's a bug, but when i run Flits in dxp mode in follower mode against a program by choosing start position, it close the dxp console.
Thank Bert.
Sidiki
Re: Flits self-learning mode
I asked, Just to run a dxp by starting position and post it here. Or i will send you the file to test.

Re: Flits self-learning mode
I don't have Flits on my computer here. But I'm sure Ed has done several tests.
I assume that Flits is 30 - 50 ELO weaker compared with Kingsrow.
But Ed can confirm this.

Re: Flits self-learning mode
It is pointless to speak of the draw rate in 10 games as the number of games is far too low. I played a quick match Maximus-Flits on my laptop, 100 games from the initial position (no ballots), 50/50 white/black, 75 moves in 1 minute. Flits using pondering, Maximus using 4 threads and no pondering. Results from Maximus' point of view: 19 wins, 1 loss, 77 draws, 3 unknown. No doubt Kingsrow will do better. Is this what you mean? (Games with more time will give more draws but Maximus can be set to use more threads and pondering.)

Re: Flits self-learning mode
I played a quick match between kr_hub and flits_hub. Flits_hub is an engine that I got from Klaas Bor. Klaas has adapted Turbo Dambase to use Hub engines, and he wrote a Hub interface to Flits to use for testing. Don't ask me or Klaas for this, he did this as a favor to me, and with Adri V.'s permission, because I helped him interface TDam to kr_hub.
Results:
kr_hub 1.61 vers Flits_hub 3.1
total 0.757 score, 35 games, 18 wins, 0 losses, 17 draws, 0 unk
elo diff 197.5
Match control settings:
75 moves in 1 minute
GAYP start position
Kingsrow settings:
Search threads: 1
egdb: 8 pieces, 6000 mb cache
hashtable: 256 mb
pondering: off
opening book: on, best moves
Flits settings:
egdb: 6 pieces
hashtable: 256 mb
pondering: on

Re: Flits self-learning mode
It is a pity that Adri Vermulen cannot repair the tip database for the program Flits. I wonder if Turbo Dambase also an error with the database tips in the program Flits.

Without any details of how the data is stored in the files, I don't know of any way to check it.Ed, I am asking you. How to check if there are errors in the tip database in Flits.
