LAN without internet

Post by Krzysztof Grzelak » Mon Oct 07, 2019 08:07

I have such a request and question. Please write how to connect two computers via LAN but without internet. Do I have to buy something in a computer store and what do I have to buy? Jelle (Sjende Blyn) released a new version of the program with support 158 games (2 ballot). Jelle asked that the match be played on two computers. Thank you for any help in advance.

Krzysztof.

I don't understand, why play DXP matches on two separate 4-core/8-thread computers when a single 16-core/32-thread computer is available? The best you can achieve on the two computers is two programs using 8 search threads and pondering. You can achieve the same on the single 16-core computer.

By the way, is the new Sjende Blyn version the same as the version that won the tournament? (apart from the additional DXP support)

Unfortunately, but it is not.

Because Krzysztof was having problems with playing 158 2-move ballot games with the tournament version of Sjende Blyn,
I proposed to make several "quick & dirty" hacks in the program, he accepted, but now is demanding that I develop several other features too.
Sorry, but this will not be developed in short term.

Which other features and why? What else could be needed besides implementation of DXP follower? (and optionally DXP initiator)
