Kingsrow - question
Hi Ed.
I have a question for you. Please write if it is possible. Would like to play a match consisting of two games. The match will take place using the function DXP. I would like the program to play once white and once black. As for the white color so that the program has no problem. Unfortunately, there is a problem for the program to play black.
I will give an example. I play Kingsrow - Maximus match consisting of two games. Using the Dxp function. We play opening 34-30.
First game Kingsrow - Maximus game is a draw and I save the game to a hard disk.
Second game Kingsrow - Maximus - in this case the program plays white again. How to make the program play black. And save the game to your hard drive.
How to make the program play black. Such options have the Dragon program and probably the Maximus program (I haven't checked it yet)

Re: Kingsrow - question
When kingsrow is the DXP Initiator, it always alternates between playing white and then black. I do not understand why you say there is a problem for it to play black, unless the other program is the Initiator, in which case that other program controls the colors played by the two programs. The match will take place using the function DXP. I don't want to use DXP Initiator. I still want to use dxp Follower. I use opening 34-30.Ed Gilbert wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2019 15:12When kingsrow is the DXP Initiator, it always alternates between playing white and then black. I choose the opening position 34-30. I use dxp Follower. I would like the program to play this position white and black.

Re: Kingsrow - question
DXP Follower does not control the side colors. The Initiator controls all the game details -- start position, time control, colors.I don't want to use DXP Initiator. I still want to use dxp Follower. I use opening 34-30.

Re: Kingsrow - question
Krzysztof, is this what you want?
Create a file test.pdn with content:
1. 34-30
In Kingsrow, after making a connection, choose Start match..., then select Start positions: read from PDN file, and select (by Browse...) test.pdn.
Then Kingsrow will play 2 games, 1 with white and 1 with black, both starting with 1. 34-30. Both are saved as usual in dxpgames.pdn.
Make sure the moves in test.pdn are correct, otherwise a game may start from an unexpected position (just happened to me).

Re: Kingsrow - question
I think I understand Krzysztof's questions now, as he has sent me a few emails just now to try to get it to work.
Krzysztof is trying to set up an engine match between kingsrow and sjende blyn, using kingsrow as initiator, but he is having difficulty because sjende blyn seems to require some human input to save the game after the first game is played, and then maybe there is also difficulty continuing after that, I'm not sure from Krzysztof's description.
Jelle, do you have any idea what Krzysztof is doing incorrectly with sjende blyn to act as a normal dxp follower?

Re: Kingsrow - question
I know that. Only just you will do how each time you must write the game. You are playing one game - you are enrolling the result in the hard disk.
You play the second game again, you must save the game to your hard drive. Still one after the other every one game.

Re: Kingsrow - question
I will describe it from the Sjende Blyn programme level.
I am playing the first game with other program - there is an end of the game - it is necessary to enrol the game in the hard disk (is playing the Sjende Blyn program with white colour).
I am playing the first game with other program - there is an end of the game - it is necessary to enrol the game in the hard disk (is playing the Sjende Blyn program with white colour).
I am playing the third game with other program - there is an end of the game - it is necessary to enrol the game in the hard disk (the Sjende Blyn program then again is playing with white rather than black colour).
I will play 100 games but the program always played white. He will never play black. This is not alternated.

Jan Jaap and Ed - thank you very much. Ed, I'm answering your question. Sjende Blyn has Initiator. I know everything now, I am testing Your program and Maximus with the program Sjende Blyn.

I think that Jan-Jaap already gave the solution with the dxp test pdn file.
Also i think that Sjende Blyn has the same style of dxp than Dam 2.2; as initiator, Dam 2.2 need to save the game manually by human operator.
So to do simple, if Krzysztof need the games in pdn, he must let Kingsrow as initiator and take the games after in "Documents/ED Gilbert" folder's.
Now, and i don't know if Sjende can't follow and need to be set after each game, but if isn't the case; the solution it's already given.

Re: Kingsrow - question
This is incorrect. Dam2.2 plays DXP without any manual operator intervention between games, either as Initiator or as Follower.as initiator, Dam 2.2 need to save the game manually by human operator.
