Unofficial World Championships Of Computer Programs Rapid 2019
Re: Unofficial World Championships Of Computer Programs Rapid 2019
A match Kingsrow 1.60b - Scan 3.1 ended in a victory for Scan.
Match result, 2 wins Scan, 1 win Kingsrow, 155 draws (so around 2% of the games decisive).
Thinking time 1 minute, 6 cores each, no pondering.
Max speed Kingsrow 80 MNodes/sec, Scan 40MNodes/s.
Based upon statistics no reason to state that the one is better.
Settings Scan:
variant = normal
book = true
book-ply = 4
book-margin = 4
threads = 6
tt-size = 24
bb-size = 6
Settings Kingsrow:
Search Mode Normal
Hash table size 256 MByte
DB Cache 30356 MByte
7p DB
Attached pdn file.

Re: Unofficial World Championships Of Computer Programs Rapid 2019
Thank you, Bert. I have a question for you (because I'm interested). Does this show you any program " Max speed Kingsrow 80 MNodes/sec, Scan 40MNodes/s."
Re: Unofficial World Championships Of Computer Programs Rapid 2019
I don't understand your question, but let me answer it this way.
Both Kingsrow and Scan show the speed, Kingsrow in the bottom in KN/s, with Scan you can also see the output (it is the number before the pv (principal variation).
In Scan you can activate output in DXP mode with dxp-search = true
dxp-server = true
dxp-host = 127.0.0.1
dxp-port = 27531
dxp-initiator = false
dxp-time = 3
dxp-moves = 75
dxp-board = true
dxp-search = true
See attached screenshot for Kingsrow where the actual speed was 80,290 KN/s (= 80.2 MN/s)

Thank you for your answer Bert. Now please play the match Kingsrow - Damage.
Re: Unofficial World Championships Of Computer Programs Rapid 2019
I'm now doing another Kingsrow - Scan (now with 2 minutes/game).
Will try to find the time during the week.
As the next 2 weekends I'm traveling.
Will keep you posted.

I am puzzled by your Kingsrow result 80,290 KN/s . You must have some super-computer.

I have a i7-8700K with 6 cores, running between 4.3 GHz - 4.5 GHz.

And today there was an announcement from Intel.
The new Cascade Lake-X processors, see below.
So multi core is going mainstream.

Rein, ok than your speed is totally in line with mine.
Can you imagine the nodes/second, on a water cooled 4 GHz 18 core processor ?
