See the "plagirism" subject on this forum. As Bert I am completly ready to exchange a lot of idea's but I am not ready to make available the source code itself or the details of the eval conception.Rein Halbersma wrote:Why not simply open source it?TAILLE wrote:Hi Rein,Rein Halbersma wrote:
Hi Gérard, what are your plans with Damy? Will it remain a private engine? Or do you intend to make it available? Rein
As you know very strong programs are already commercialised and in this context Damy will not add very much.
In addition I want two avoid at least two activities which does not look fun for me:
1) Debugging a problem due to configuration quite different from mine
2) Working on protecting my program
I prefer simply exchange freely with you, without any constraint.
FYI I am trying to build a new version based on huge memory now available. On my computer I have 32Gb and I am anticipating a version which need 64Gb of memory due to large evaluation tables.
BTW my current Damy version is not able to play a game! It allows only the analyse of positions.

You are very sensitive to plagiarism. Please, write me if it means some kind of plagiarism used in international draughts.TAILLE wrote: See the "plagirism" subject on this forum. The only protection of the program that has not been broken is the USB key. They use such protection by Russian programmers in Russian draught between them programmers ToSha, Tornado, Edeon, Tundra. Remaining software can break security. Only a matter of time. Gerard please write what processor you have at home (strongest).TAILLE wrote: Hi Rein,

I think that Gérard was referring to last year's discoveries. We established that Joost and the authors of Edeon Sport were using Scan's evaluation.Krzysztof Grzelak wrote:You are very sensitive to plagiarism. Please, write me if it means some kind of plagiarism used in international draughts.

Joost wrote about it openly on the forum. I am thinking whether or not the Edeon Sport program would use some function from the Scan program to by at the bottom of the table.Fabien Letouzey wrote:I think that Gérard was referring to last year's discoveries. Could you show me where he put my name in the program? Thanks.Krzysztof Grzelak wrote:Joost wrote about it openly on the forum.
If he didn't, that's plagiarism.

@Krzysztof: FYI Scan's evaluation (taxation of the position) consists of two parts: the code (the "network" and it's topology) and the data (the coefficients of the network).Krzysztof Grzelak wrote:Joost wrote about it openly on the forum. For Scan 2.0 the coefficients are in a binary file of 360 KB, for Scan 3.0 the coefficients are in a binary file of 8304 KB.
May be you can check if Edeon has some data file corresponding with one of these, or another data file(s) that may contain the coefficients (it may have a different size than Scan's when the coefficients were converted to another data format). The nice thing about this data file is that when you remove it, the program will not be able to play a decent game of draughts anymore (this in contrast to endgame or opening files)!; all the "magic" about good/bad positions is in the coefficients.

I think that Krzysztof always took holidays to run his tournaments. However this is the first live one that I know of. So, I would like to congratulate him for realising his dream!Jelle Wiersma wrote:And thanks to Krzysztof for spending his holiday(?) on playing / showing semi-live 90 games between 10 very strong programs!
