Hi Bert

Thank very much for Horizon 4.0 you uploaded for us and 4.5.
With Damage 2011, Horizon 4.0 to 4.5 work fine. Unfortunately with Damage 2015 when you try to load Horizon 4.5 engine, Damage 2015 crash.
Please can you help us to solve this problem, i will be happy to run a dxp game with Horizon 4.5 and others programs.
In Damage 2011, it seem that itsn't possible to run a dxp game.
Perhaps you will ask enough, sorry if it's the case, but is it possible to add the option of self move to avoid to drag and drop the piece on the board. I mean for example, if i want to play 35-30, when i click on 35,the the piece go to 30 automaticly, like with Dam 2.2 or Aurora Borealis. Thank.

Kindly, Sidiki.

Sidiki, thanks for your post.

Due to Business trips, I didn't had time to cover your request.

To your first question.
The recent Damage2015 GUI was only designed to work with Scan , and the proprietary Hub protocol implementation.
I started with an improved GUI Damage2016 which should cover both the GUI protocol (as used in Horizon) and Hub (Scan).
Unfortunately I'm not sure when I finalize this version, due to other obligations.

I have already implemented the self move as you described. Go to the Tools Options Dialog, and uncheck Dragging,
than it should work (so in case of 35-30 move, you only need to click on the 35 square).

Krzysztof,

did the Horizon Engine started from the GUI, or did you start the Horizon Engine directly?
If you start the Horizon Engine directly than the Database path might not be correct.
If the Engine is activated through the GUI than it should (normally) work.
What was the link you used to download the GUI and Engine, so I can check?

I will include the 7P DB in the next release of Damage 2016.

Thank you for your response Bert. Just I write that ran from the GUI and not from the engine.

Thank you for your response Bert. This would greatly enhance the power of the engine Horizon.

Hi Bert
It seem that Horizon 4.5 load the databases directly from the directory "Databases" it work for me. I asked the endgame databases of at least 6 pieces and remark that it was similare to Dragon's 2.41 , so i generated the 5 endgames database and replace the extention .drd of Dragon by .cprz of Horizon and put then in a directory called "Databases" and it work fine.
I don"t know if it will work with the 6 egdb of Dragon 2.4.1 of course due to 27-72 or 31-13 and so and so database. Thank

The Damage/Horizon Databases are not compatible with the Dragon DB format, so basically it shouldn't work.
Next to that the (new) Horizon program uses .cprx Databases which are a little smaller.
These DBS have somewhat better compression while it only contains the DB value in case there is no capture or capture thread.

I'm (in between work and business travelling) trying to stabilize the GUI (Damage 2016) and Horizon Engine (which will be called Horizon 4.6), and will make all available next to the 7p DB.
As there are very good open source engines out there (and Horizon is certainly weaker compared with Dragon, Scan and Kingsrow), my aim is to make it in strength comparable with Moby Dam.
