Re: Internet engine matches
Engine match results using 3-moves start positions, TC 100 moves in 3 minutes, 4 search threads, pondering off, kingsrow using its 8-piece db, scan 6-piece, both 64 mb hashtables.
Kingsrow 1.56 vs Scan 2.0: 10 wins, 129 losses, 849 draws, 0 unknowns
(Bert, you should heed Rein's advice and use remote desktop. It's so convenient to be able to remote into my home machine from the beach...)

Re: Internet engine matches
My heart skipped a few beats when I read "10 wins, 129 losses,..." expecting to read "19 draws", but fortunately it wasn't a 2-ballot move match That would have been a truly unbelievable result...Ed Gilbert wrote: Kingsrow 1.56 vs Scan 2.0: 10 wins, 129 losses, 849 draws, 0 unknowns

Re: Internet engine matches
Sjende Blyn played against Scan in a tournament setting:
99 moves in 30 minutes, 6 cores, but not computing during opponents turn, 6 piece endgame databases.
After 99 moves, the game was considered to be a draw.
10 games were played, all draw.
(This low number of games is due to an automation problem; after the 4th and the 10th game they stopped exchanging moves ).
Sjende Blyn accidently played the first 7 games without endgame database.
Like at the Computer Olympiad, in several games Scan managed to gain an advantage.
So, also my second impression is that Scan is stronger.

Re: Internet engine matches
Hi Jelle, welcome to this forum. It would be nice if you could post more detailed statistics. It appears as if Sjende Blyn has become very strong over the last few years, hardly ever losing games anymore. No doubt this would be reflected in match statistics. Could you share some of the things that you think make Sjende Blyn strong?Jelle Wiersma wrote:Sjende Blyn played against Scan in a tournament setting:
