Zimbabwe plays Pool variant with a twist - the opponent must win against a single checker in 12 moves or less.
They love their feature, it is like an out of jail ticket, when they get a king in a hard position they pitch remaining checkers and start the count. In the regular Pool the 12 move count starts with all pieces as kings, with early pitching the opponent has no time to set up a winning king ending.
Surprisingly the draughts level is high, Zimbabwe boasts many strong players. There is no federation yet, but they started discussing organizing and coming out onto the World stage.
