Theo van den Hoek, Chairman of the KNDB

Post by Hanco Elenbaas » Mon Jun 09, 2003 01:13

Pieter Hildering, Hiltex-sponsor, and main organizer of the Dutch Draughts
Championships 2003 in Amsterdam, on Damweb Forum, June 8th:
http://www.startforum.nl/forums/damweb/ ... 00108.html

"During the finished Championship of the Netherlands I had a good
conversation with our chairman (Theo) about the FMJD.
We shared the opinion that it was impossible to continue Van Beek in office.
Consequently I cannot place what the chairman wrote referring to the crisis in the FMJD.
Is the chairman speaking with two tongues? Apparently.
As a result he's fooling me or Draughts playing Netherlands.
I do not hope that the last thing is true. However, when regulations are no
longer respected than we are on the way off and than we are nothing
more than an organization of marionettes(fmjd)."

Theo van den Hoek, Chairman of the KNDB

Post by Hanco Elenbaas » Mon Jun 09, 2003 01:26

According to a column of Alex Mathijsen on the KNDB-site, Theo van den Hoek Image
is going to resign this month as chairman from the KNDB.
Is he planning to take over FMJD?
And who's candidate to succeed TheoImage?
KNDB-site doesn't give the answers.

Theo van den Hoek, as KNDB-chairman, has placed a letter on Damweb, regarding the FMJD-crisis.
http://www.damweb.nl/nws/kndbinfmjdcrisis.html
Some points:
1. The KNDB wants a new GA (in the summer, in Poland, lead by Jacek Pawlicki
2. The KNDB accepts Ivan Shovkoplyas as president, if elected.
3. The KNDB wants a dutch vice-president (not Van Beek, not Wiersma).
That vice-president has 2 main tasks: 1. Assisting the president in contact with french and englisch speaking members and 2. Executing tasks, for example the contact with "the dutch FMJD-bureau".

The proposed new Chairman of the KNDB is Ebbo de Jong.
Surprisingly good news!
He is to be elected June 21st in Woerden.
After a long dark period some light is starting to shine again
in the world of KNDB officials!

Ebbo de Jong up to now is Chairman of the Utrecht Draughts Federation.
He is a member of Wolter & Dros/ADG, the same club as Ton Sijbrands.
He is unusually eloquent for a Draughts official, full of ideas, inspiring, active.
And at first sight he is an honest man.
He organized the blindséance from Ton Sijbrands in Gouda 1999.
He played in it and made a draw.
He wrote the prologue for the book about this séance.
Draughts players in Utrecht are very disappointed that Ebbo left their federation.
I never heard anyone say something bad about the man.
Let's give him a fair chance.

its official Ebo de Jong is the new chairman of the kndb. his first action was
to give mr van de hoek the status of member of honour of the kndb. in
my opinion nothing wrong but the timing good be better.
