EK Jeugddammen 2011

Vandaag start het EK Jeugdammen weer!! Deze keer wordt het gehouden in Tallinn (Estland)

Het toernooi is goed te volgen op de volgende websites:

- De Nederlandse toernooiwebsite met heel veel verslagen etc. http://www.ekjeugddammen.nl/

Ook op DamZ en Damxl zal de nodige informatie komen te staan, maar de plekken waar 'live' het EK te volgen is zijn deze drie.

Er is momenteel zelfs live rapportage op de Nederlandse toernooiwebsite! Zo staat er dat de 1e ronde een uur is uitgesteld.

Houd er trouwens rekening mee dat het in Estland een uur later is dan in Nederland (in verband met aanvangstijden etc.)

It is a pity that there are no results on the official website of the EYC 2011. It is – I believe – the largest draughts competition in the world. A great opportunity for propaganda (especially for young players, who follow their draughts friends) for our sport. Although it is a tough organisation - you have to supply lodging, catering etc. etc. - information for all the people abroad should be available. Lots of parents in whole Europe are interested in the results of their children. So information as results, photo’s and games must be available. And with software as Toernooimanager or ChessArbiter (the last two years, events in Poland and the Netherlands have shown this) it is really easy. Estonia is well known as an ICT country. So for me it is really astonishing that the organisation can not provide such things. I think EDC as also FMJD (as organisation who should consider this as well) have to put a standard for Internet-information. When an organisation can not provide this standard, they can’t organize this large tournaments. As draughts world we should be ashamed of this situation. (the chess world is laughing at us. A Chess Olympiad with more then 1000 players, they show it on Internet!)

But hopefully tomorrow everything is different and we see all the results on the official website…..

I heard that there were 300 people with a camera. That's not the only thing: there is also a big TV crew. So there is a lot of good things! If now the organisation would only put the results online, I'd be very satisfied!

Waar we in Nederland inderdaad op zitten te wachten zijn de partijen!

Pas na zaterdag, lees ik net op de website, dit omdat de Russen gebruik maken van de partijen. Dus nog ff geduld!

Bij de aspiranten (jongens) doet de Italiaan Alessio Scaggiante het verrassend (?) goed! Geen enkele nederlaag in de eerste 6 rondes, en daardoor een gedeelde derde plek. Hopelijk geeft deze prima prestatie het Italiaanse dammen weer een nieuwe impuls...

Bij de aspiranten (jongens) doet de Italiaan Alessio Scaggiante het verrassend (?) goed! Geen enkele nederlaag in de eerste 6 rondes, en daardoor een gedeelde derde plek. Hopelijk geeft deze prima prestatie het Italiaanse dammen weer een nieuwe impuls...

Scaggiante verslaat EK aspiranten 2010 Machtelinck in de ochtendronde en als hij nog twee punten haalt uit de laatste twee partijen maakt hij goede kans op een podiumplek. Tegen de taaie Pool Budis zal er wel niet meer dan remise inzitten, dus het zal er van afhangen wie hij de laatste ronde treft.

Jan Groenendijk Europees kampioen!


Doordat Jan Groenendijk zijn achtste ronde succesvol afsloot is komt zijn puntentotaal op 15 waardoor hij niet meer verslagen kan worden in de laatste negende ronde.

Hierdoor is hij nu al zeker van de titel europees kampioen pupillen jongens!

Goed gedaan! Bij de welpen zijn de Nederlanders teruggevallen, waardoor een volledig Russisch podium zich ontwikkelt aldaar. Opvallend is dat Martijn de Leeuw bij de junioren hard op weg is naar zijn score van vorig jaar (1+ 8=).
