Dear Ganesha,
since April 2007 I'm not a EDC President
So it is difficult for me to say why exactly this dates. I presume that it was the only one option for Roberts Misans. Sometimes it is a problem to get GOOD price of hotel in other dates etc... I don't know. Of course it is very pity that Nina and Vitalia can not defend theirs victory from 2009.
For me it is very impressive that Roberts working on this project !!! 30-35 years ago was a lot of Youth people really active with organizing something. Nowadays no. So GOOD LUCK Roberts !
By the way ... let me add one NICE photo from one 'draughts' event from Latvia(or Bashkiria) this summer:

Dear Netherland friends,

I hope you are well!

I believe that you have noticed that from 1st till 7th of November in Latvia we are making Confederation cup – open club championship.

We have established “Draughts development association” in which are seven players with huge international experience. Already for more than seven years in Latvia there haven’t been any international tournaments. Our goal is to develop draughts in Latvia - make strong club in Riga and every year some very nice tournament. This is our first project and it is really important that we will have strong championship and also our Netherland friends will participate. We have made nice accommodation for tournament.

Unfortunately I do not have a lot of Netherlands draughts players’ contacts therefore I kindly ask you to forward this information to all Netherlands clubs and possible participants.
I really hope that you can come to our tournament. I would also like to apologize that tournament dates matches with women championship, but unfortunately for several reasons those was only possible dates for us.
