If it weren't for the 3 kings vs. 1 king draw, then International Draughts wouldn't suffer from the many draws. As far as I understand, 3 versus 1 would win on a different board geometry, with two long diagonals, because there are no double corners. This would allow the three kings to win by tactical means.
Question: Imagine that the kings weren't allowed to slide to square 1 and 50 (although they may land there by capture). Wouldn't this solve the problem? After all, the double corner is removed.
