A new move (?) in a famous classical endgame

Hi,

White to move

In this well known position almost all players will play the sequence : 1.34-29 23x34 2.30x39 18-23 3.39-34 12-18 followed by the standard gambit 4.35-30 24x35 5.27-22 18x27 6.33-29 13-18 and then 7.28-22 or 29-24 with a (difficult) draw!

Another possibility has been found by Damy:
1.27-22 18x27 2.34-29 23x34 3.30x39 21-26 4.32x21 26x17 5.39-34 24-30 6.35x24 19x39 7.33x44 =
for exemple if 7...16-21 (or (7...17-21) 8.37-31! =

Nice find! I can't find any reference to it in any of the analyses we made on this position 8 years ago (time flies!), and neither in any of Sijbrands' columns in the Volkskrant.

That most certainly is a nice find and the reason why I joined the forum. To thank you for posting it. Excellent. Thomas Falater

Isn't it so that black should play 3... 12-18 instead of 21-26? Then very likely the usual variants will occur after 4.39-34 18-23 5.35-30 etc.
