I guess multiple.

In my case, I am back to computer chess; it's been official for a few minutes: http://www.talkchess.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=65680

I am still available for discussions, but am not working on draughts at the moment. Hopefully, Scan 3 will be strong enough for a couple of years.

Krzysztof drove Bert away, and he was the main poster in this subforum.

Yes Ildjarn, unfortunetly the exchanges I had with Bert on the breakthrough draughts stopped abruptly after Krzysztof intervention.

Well, i am re-writing the evaluation function of dragon from scratch, trying to see if it works if you combine the ideas from dragon's and scan's evaluation function. This should yield large patterns that are fairly fast and bias-free. First in breakthrough and then for normal draughts.

I guess it will take some time, but i am not in a hurry.

Hi Michel,
It will be a good thing. Trying new(s) idea(s) it's good for the draughts community. The case of chess it's unbilievable. Many engine exist and several open source as stockfisch from wat is devired raubfisch that is more stronger. Almost every week a new version it's available.

It's clear that update a draughts program everytime itsn't a little thing.
Dragon, Scan, Kingsrow, and unfortunately Damage, for what i hope a return of Bert, are the regular programs updated and followed by several users.
It's true that on this forum, we aren't to much to post, but this section it's followed by many users and passionned draughts players.

Nobody, even the super GMI can claime to be able to beat Dragon, Scan, Kingsrow, Damage, Sjende Blyn or Damy in an official match of 10 games. Just to say that, we need programs to improve our games and programs more stronger can help us in this task. It's what a championship of computer it's organised to permit to programmer to improve their progam.

So Trying new idea with the datas already aivailable it's good for all the draughts community

To conclude, i want to say that this section helped all the progammers to improve their engine by exchanging ideas followed by damexchange results analysed .
The main idea of all this it's that, i beg everybody to do something to save this wonderfull section of computer draughts engine.

Catherine.

hi Michel Dragon using the standard book is much stronger winning the kingsrow in 50 games 2-0 for dragon. I made an adaptation of the translation français to Portuguese here is the translation
