Re: Computer draughts tournament (Culemborg, 2010.9.12)
Hi all,
I've recently begun work on a 10x10 droughts engine after working on 8x8 engines for a number of years.
I'd like to understand what typical computer tournament times are. It looks like 15 or 20 minutes for all (75 move) is common. Are there any other widely use times for weekend or longer tournaments?
Regards,
Steve

Re: Computer draughts tournament (Culemborg, 2010.9.12)
Steve,
i think the 75 moves in 20 minutes is almost the only time setting which we use nowadays.
In the past (
, I'm getting old), we also had longer games (quite boring
), where we (if i remember well) played 65 moves in 1 hour or so.
These tournaments were played in 2 days (different weekends.).
To be honest i don't think that we would see totally different games when we increase time these days.
It is a draw anyway
