Voor foto's van de mens-machine match en het Open NK computerdammen, zie http://www.win.tue.nl/~wstahw/tuematch/. Een verslag van de match geschreven door Jeroen is te lezen op http://www.damz.nl.
I installed the program and I'm very impressed! This is much better stuff than the crappy version of Truus I bought several years ago.
I started generating the endgame databases, but it takes a lot of time on my computer. Does someone know a place to download the database files? Many thanks in advance!

@GuidoB
Look here for the endgame database: http://www.xs4all.nl/~hjetten/damnl.html#database
For ten euro it's more like a gift.
One option i'm very happy about: Dragon will (if you want it to) calculate every move; not just the best, ignoring the rest. In checker-problems the authors solution is clearly the best, but those obnoxious second solutions will escape most programs. Dragon finds them.
It also features the most welcome Save as applet-option.

Please take note you can not use these databases in dragon. The databases that are used by dam 2.2 are based on dragon's programming, but they use a different compression scheme.steenslag wrote:@GuidoB

When compressed with default options, the full 6 piece (win/draw/lose) databases take 1.2 GB of disk size. This makes them difficult to make available on the net. But if anyone feels up to it...
The 7 piece databases won't fit on dvd, even with the more aggresive compression, which (with some performance cost) compresses twice as good as the default
As a sidenote, a new version of dragon will be available sometime next week, which should have up to 25% faster searching.
