Ask about similar eval function

Post by Catherine » Sun May 14, 2017 07:53

Hi all,

I thought since a week about a theory:

If an engine B use the same eval function than an other A.
If the win margin of A against engine C is almost 15%
and win margin of B against C is almost 40%

Please, Is it possible to have the same eval function and don't have the same strenght? Thank

Catherine.

Of course, because strength = search + eval. If search of A is worse than B, then B would be stronger.

Hi,

Thank, this is clear now.
So the search speed it's an important factor in the strenght of an engine.
I asked this because if i take into account the BMI2 of Joost that apparently increase search speech, Argus 1.0A6x64 is very fast some tests are been done on core i5 with 8Go of Ram Windows 8.1

PS: this it's just to have answer to my question about the relationship between search speed and stregnht.

Specify what are the results of matches between programs and improve the configuration of some programs.
