This saturday will begin CHAMPIONNAT DE FRANCE 2004.
You have now the list of registered players. If all these players are in COMPIEGNE end of week, the divisions are almost made up.

See :

http://compiegne2004.free.fr/inscrits.htm

I will be a 3rd division (HONNEUR) player.

Who will be the new french championship ? Almost everyone say that it could be ARNAUD CORDIER or LAURENT NICAULT.

What do you think about it ?

Hello Everybody,

I am back.

GILLES DELMOTTE won BRUNO FERET and became 2004 French championship today.

And ARNAUD CORDIER could only draw LAURENT NICAULT today.

GILLES DELMOTTE and ARNAUD CORDIER are 1st tied in classification.
But in FRANCE, Priority to the player who win more times in a tournament.

So GILLES DELMOTTE is the new champion of France.

More news later. I am tired.

1) GERARD SANNIER of DAMIER CLUB DE ROUEN has begun to update his site. You can have a lot of news about 2004 FRANCE CHAMPIONSHIP.

http://rouendames.chez.tiscali.fr

2) TON SIJBRANDS played a "blind simultanée" against ARNAUD CORDIER and LAURENT NICAULT with the timer (2h/50 moves and 1h to finish for each player)

Friday evening

T. SIJBRANDS - A CORDIER : 1-1
T. SIJBRANDS - L. NICAULT : 2-0

3) About my bad results (3rd division - Honneur) : more tomorrow.

4) TON SIJBRANDS played a "simultanée against 35 players. He drew 3 players and won the others. Unfortunately, FAUSTIN EKOLLO lost with the same style of game that permitted him to draw ALEXEI TCHIZOV in CANNES two times.
Players who drew (If not mistake from me) : ALAIN PROUTEAU, RENE ESTEBE and CAMARA N'FANARA

I hope that I didn't made a mistake about number of draws. Information to be verified.

I played in 3rd division (HONNEUR). I played badly. I wasn't trained a lot.

I met CLAUDE JANUEL the 1st day. I should have lost. But after 6 hours of game, CLAUDE didn't see correctly the best way to win. I was lucky.

2nd day : I played DANIEL DUVAL, team-mate of ROUEN. I didn't take any risk. I moved back a lot with a lot of exchanges. DANIEL was the most offensive and won. I was disappointed of my game.

3rd day :
Morning
Against ALAIN PROUTEAU. I wanted to win and took more risks. But I played badly my end of game and drew.
Later this week, ALAIN DREW TON SIJBRANDS in SIMULTANEE (35 players).

Afternoon
My opponent was DOMINIQUE THINEY of COMPIEGNE. Draw

4th day :
I met JEAN-LOUIS FARCY of LE MANS. After 5 and 1/2 hour of game I saw a wrong combination. I lost.

5th day : I played a bad end of game against JEAN LELOUP of near PARIS. Defeat again.

6th day :

Morning
LUC CREVAT of near MARSEILLE easily won me.

Afternoon
I drew the leader MICHEL DEYDIER of NANTES. I took a lot of risks. I lost a piece. I should have lost. I was lucky.

7th day :
I easily drew the other leader VIANNEY DELEU of WATTRELOS (near LILLE).

8th day : I sould have won MICHEL EMOLO of REIMS. I won one piece. I had a King. I played badly end of game. DRAW.

9th day : I easily lost against LAURENT DESCAMPS of DOUAI (near LILLE).

I have 6 pts after 11 rounds. I lost about 80 pts in FRENCH RATINGS.

Games are here :

Congratulations to Gilles Delmotte, who was Champion for the first time in 1992, http://compiegne2004.free.fr/historic.htm
In the Year of the Monkey the title is for Gilles Delmotte. Is Gilles family from Thierry, the Champion of 1994?

GILLES and THIERRY are brothers. They had been french champions in the past.

HENRI CORDIER is the father of ARNAUD CORDIER. HENRI is the 2004 FRANCE VETERAN CHAMPION. HENRI won national title in 1979 (Please verify). ARNAUD won in 96, 97, 98, 2000 and 2001. he finished 2nd in 1999 (leader NICOLAS GUIBERT) and 2003 (Leader LAURENT NICAULT).

In 2002 ARNAUD had to play the WC qualification in YAKUTSK scheduled unfortunately in August 2002.

Others Families Draughts players :

DANIEL and LAURENT DUVAL : Brothers of ROUEN.

REMY and BRUNO FERET : Father and son of ROUEN

LAURENT and FLORENCE NICAULT (secretary of FFJD) : Husband and wife of CAEN

THOMAS and MAXIME LEMAIRE & AMANDINE STOCK : Brothers and half-sister of WATTRELOS

LUC and CLAUDE CREVAT : Brothers of AIX-EN-PROVENCE. AIX is a nice city near MARSEILLE. LUC CREVAT stopped the game during 10 years. he decided to come back last year. He played AVIGNON 2004. I don't know his brother named CLAUDE. But I have heard of him in COMPIEGNE for the 1st time. He abandonned the game. I don't know the reason.

More about LUC CREVAT results in AVIGNON 2003:
