Hurricane YVAN threatens DUTCH-speaking caribean now (CURACAO, BONNAIRE, ARUBA....).

You can view satellite card of this phenomena here :

Hi Jacques, only the Dutch Windward Caribbean Islands, Saba, St. Maarten and St. Eustatius must fear for hurricanes.
Never the southern Caribbeans like Curaçao, Aruba and Bonaire!

Hello Hanco !

Please read this page of National weather center of MIAMI. You will have all informations about HURRICANE IVAN.

Specialist previewed first arrival of YVAN in MARTINIQUE (french island). But this tropical phenomena is curbing toward south of MARTINIQUE.

First : Grenada, Saint-Vincent and Grenadines are now threatened.

Second : Curaçao, Bonnaire, Aruba... will be soon threatened.

See :

Grenada is not only the island of Adam Kelvin Andall but also from lots of other draughtsplayers we met in Curaçao, like Kenrick Charles and Edgar Anslem.
A big tragedy, also because it's a very poor island!
But if Grenada is hit, then St. Vincent also must be in trouble!?

On St. Vincent live draughtsplayers like Vincent Prescott, Selwyn Samuel, David Findley, Joseph Forbes and Julian Jack.

Hello Hanco,

ST-VINCENT has not been so damaged than GRENADA. But Dependencies (GRENADINES) of ST-VINCENT knew a lot of gusts. A lot of damages has been registered.

Hurricane YVAN destroyed GRENADA and some islands of GRENADINES.
Now it pass near "ABC" archipelago.

Let's hope that you will be lucky.

See-you later.

He wrote me back :

I do not think it will be so serious here as it was on Grenada.

How come Jacques, you're involved in the weather that much, you're a meteorologist?
You know Jacques, there is a Dutch saying:
Only trust meteorologists when they predict yesterday's weather.

I was born in Guadeloupe in 1969.
Hurricane HUGO destroyed my island in September 1989. I know how can be damaged a country because of an hurricane.

In GUADELOUPE after HUGO devastated 75 % of houses where I lived, I organized the food and clothes rescues. It was a difficult moment.

I know how badly when you have no informations because no radios can broadcast.

IT WAS DIFFICULT MOMENTS FOR CITIZENS OF GUADELOUPE in 1989.
But we were lucky because my island is a french caribbean dependency.
FRANCE brought any help we need.

I am usually pray for all caribbeans victims of hurricanes.
