National Champoinship time control

Post by tarmo » Mon Nov 14, 2011 10:56

Hello,

We have a discussion going on in Estonia about the time control of the national team and individual championships. Some players would like to have shorter time control and the reason is that it takes too much time to play with standard time. Could you please post here how it's done in your country? Is it always standard time control (1'20'' + 1'' per move Fischer) or is it something else? Also it would be good to know how is it always round robin or not?

BR,
Tarmo

Hello Tarmo,

It's 2 hours for 50 moves and after that 1 hour for 25 moves. 1:20 + 1 minutes per move might be possible in the future.
National team coompetition is always round robin, http://www.kndb.nl/cms/index.php?option ... Itemid=163
Indivudual competion is also round robin, semi-finals not anymore, since this year they are Swiss, with Fisher-time.
