ARNAUD CORDIER is the 2005 FRENCH CHAMPION.
WC in AMSTERDAMwill miss him. Unfortunately he couldn't play ZONAL in GNIEZNO because of job. He will be perhaps the best player to not to go to AMSTERDAM.
This photo has been taken in COMPIEGNE 2004 during simultaneous games against GMI TON SIJBRANDS. This contest finished with a draw.

So you think Arnaud Cordier is better than Ton Sijbrands, Harm Wiersma, Auke Scholma, Léopold Kouogueu, Gaoussou Sidibé, Modou Seck, Vadim Virny, Alexander Dybman, Bas Messemaker, Macodou Ndiaye, Nikolai Misjtsjanski, Alexander Presman, Jevgeny Vatoetin, Andrej Kalmakov, Wjatsjeslav Sjtsjogoljev, Geert van Aalten, Johan Krajenbrink, Hein Meijer, Alexander Bulatov, Erno Prosman, Vladimir Kolesjnik, Wieger Wesselink, Gabriel Kolesov, Jeroen van den Akker, Mark Kemperman, Hendrik van der Zee, Arjan van Leeuwen, Gilles Salomé, Marino Barkel, etc., etc.???
I don't believe you are serious now Jacques.

Hello Hanco !!

Perhaps A. CORDIER is not the best of the players not qualified for AMSTERDAM.
But remember : He won H. WIERSMA during last dutch teams championship. He also drew T. SIJBRANDS in COMPIEGNE 2004. And he usually draws A. TCHIZOV when he plays the russian GMI.

Hi Jacques!
Cordier won Wiersma, because Wiersma forced himself too much in attempt to win, out of disgust from Cordier's only playing to make a draw. You probably also sometimes have beaten very much stronger players than yourself, because they had their eyes fixed on killing you, went too far in their attempts to win and lost. But that kind of incidents didn't make you a better player than the opponents, did it?

Against Sijbrands, in the blindsimul in Compiègne Cordier had a completely lost position, before Sijbrands made a big mistake, which made possible that Cordier escaped with a draw.
Hein Meijer killed Cordier often pretty easy, he showed me one of these games, I think from 2001 or 2002 Cannes.

Of course Cordier is a strong player, but please wake me up when Arnaud Cordier succeeds in qualifying for the World championship. So far, he never did. The last time he tried wasn't a success at all, Challenge Mondial Yakutia 2002, where he didn't even reach the Finals.

Instead of weeping about Cordier, France better concentrates on support for Gilles Delmotte and Laurent Nicault, and probably even more put hope in the real French draughts stars, the French Africans like Ndiaga Samb, Bassirou Bâ, Jean-Marc Ndjofang and Flaubert Ndonzi.

I remember Cordier winning in Nijmegen in 1998 or so , where he beat players like Krajenbrink and Gantwarg with quite an attractive style.

I remember Cordier as the number 2 from France in 2002 behind Nicault. I also remember Cordier as the number 2 from France in 2003, again after Nicault. And I remember Cordier as the number 2 from France after Delmotte in 2004.
So, the real champions of France, Nicault and Delmotte, are there during the world championship in Amsterdam.

Time for France to stand behind their real champions and stop nagging and sobbing about the number 2. It would be great if a Frenchspeaking draughtsplayer becomes World champion, in case a Dutchman can't do this.
Let's make thumbs for Ndiaga Samb!
