It seems like several draught federation under Panam are not taking it seriously with getting a strong organization.

As an example, the Surinam Draught Federation is probably one of the oldest draught organaizatios in the Americas and have been holding championcships since the 1950's.

This organization (Surinam Draught Federation), though from a small country, should have been one of the best in the region. Still, we see that they are having problems with sending their champion to the games because of internal struggles and mismanagment by the board.
At this moment both the Vice President and the general secretary quit. Earlier other members quit. So, basically the chairman Mr. Narian is the only standing member of the board. Yes, the same person who is vice president of the Panam federation !?

Can any one tell me which PADCF member is organizing Junior gams ? 2 or 3 memebers...How will we grow this organization without getting the youth to play??

How to solve these problems....and get to a strong PADCF ??

mr. Maros:

You qualified for WC 2005, and that gives you the right to play in WC 2005, but not the right to appoint anybody to represent you. This is a competition and not a meeting. If you cant go the next strongest person of the PANAM should go, and not somebody you indicate. The Panam board should have a say in this, and not the Brazilian federation.

It is not Brazil who earned a spot in WC2000 but Mr. Marcos...

Raoul Alias and Hensley Rondei are doing a wonderful job with their PADCF! I love it, that Canada is back via André Leclerc and that Haiti and Grenada organized the Panam championships before. Probably Trinidad & Tobago is next.
Lélio Marcos has done a lot for Draughts and Checkers in the new world since the 1980's. Really kind that Lélio gave away his Brazilian place in the WC to a talented player like José Maria Silva Filho. We are happy to welcome José Maria Silva Filho in Amsterdam next October!
Let's hope that Suriname and mister Narain will find a way to solve the troubles.
The best way to develop a strong PADCF is make possible that Raoul Alias and Hensley Rondei will find good sponsors.

Reglements of the 13th Pan American International Draughts Championship Montreal 2005

3. The final classification will be based on the quantity of collected points. The first place gives the right to the title of champion of the 13th. Pan Am. Int. Draughts Championship. The players fishing in the two first places will receive the right to the World Championship 2006.

4. If two or more players end in the first place, they will play a tiebreak (barrage) after the last round on 22 July to define the places occupied.

5. During this tiebreak the players will have 15 minutes each for the game.

6. If no winner emerges from these games they will go on playing 10 minutes games. No winner sudden death principle 5 min.
