UKRAINIAN championship 2004

Post by Jacques PERMAL » Mon Sep 06, 2004 10:37

YURI ANIKEEV is a strong player. I guessed it during CANNES 2003 where I played him and lost. He had finished among the best.

In july he could have won DEN HAAG tournament. Infortunately, he took too much risks against the eventually winner GUNTIS VALNERIS.

He is UKRAINE's Champion today.

Please, Alexander, translate all the names of players for us.

Thanks.

Thanks for this translation, Alexander.

YURI LAGODA is a good player according to his results in PRAGUE and DEN HAAG this year. Perhaps he was tired during this second leg of UKRAINE championship.
BRUNO FERET of ROUEN confirmed me just after dutch tournaments that the two YURI are good players and impressed him a lot.

IVAN ANTONENKO finished fourth. he has a solid game. I remarked that during CANNES 2003 where I played him with a draw result.

Unfortunately, OLGA BALTASHI won only one time during the second leg and was surpassed by L.LITVINENKO (LUDMILLA ?).
