Congratulations to Joost for his winning program Ares.
And big thanks to Krzysztof for organizing this tournament and playing from 8 in the morning to 8 in the evening!

Re: International draughts tournament 2024
Hi Joost, Yes, that's a bug, but when fixed, you can still have that two positions have the same hash value and that you end up using wrong information. The chance of two positions having the same hash value is almost 0, but almost 0 is not 0. That's why I also use a lossless comparison of the posit...

Re: Unofficial World Championship Of Computer Programs In International Draughts 2023
Hi Krzysztof, at your site you mention "the place of the program in the tournament is determined by the greatest number of points scored in the tournament and Sonneborn - Berger".
Based on this, you should only use Total score and 2. Sonneborn-Berger, and omit Number of wins.

Considering
- every programmer can change versions of its software twice during tournament
I supplied Krzysztof with a bugfix for isolated man (geisoleerde schijven); in Round 9, in the game Moby Dam vs. Sjende Blyn, the man on 22 was wrongly considered to be isolated.

Ah, interesting, can you mention the topic? (as you probably know I'm not a frequent user of this forum) https://laatste.info/bb3/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=8275&start=45#p128881 @Jan-Jaap, I largely read the topic and like to answer your question of May 26, 2020: What do the others think? With SB I meant Sonneborn - Berger for tie breaks (not Sjende Blyn)Jelle Wiersma wrote: ↑Sun Sep 19, 2021 20:48I personally think SB is the best, nevertheless, it is clear that Damage has "gold". Congratulations to Bert, and thanks to Krzysztof for running this 34-rounds tournament!

Re: Question about endgame databases
I think it is important to notice that in the ICGA tournaments of the World Computer Chess Championship and the Computer Olympiad, you are supposed to use original work, and if not, mention those who work you used; the credits! And correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Ed made his endgame database...

Incredible tournament, incredible work! On what game and when will be the next Championship? I think next year. Will try to get - ask for the availability of the programs Damy and TDKing. I will also ask the author of Maximus to be able to start next year. Hi Krzysztof, may be you can also ask Nicol...

The 2 draws within a won position, due to move repetition, is clear. As I mostly test against KR, the endgame is never played and the prog...
